Build the list from expected use
Estimate the number of people, service period and normal consumption. Include a sensible operating allowance without ordering more than storage can protect.
Name grade and pack size
State the required item, preferred brand or grade where necessary and the pack size. A total weight alone may not describe how the goods should arrive.
Check storage before ordering
Make sure the receiving area is dry, ventilated, secure and protected from pests. Plan stock rotation before the delivery arrives.
Confirm receiving responsibility
Name the person who will count and inspect the goods. Record shortages or visible damage at handover.
